FSC’s COVID-19 Mask Requirement Update

As you are aware, this past year has been very challenging adapting to the changes that have accompanied the COVID-19 pandemic, but there is light at the end of this tunnel! Governor John Carney has directed that effective Friday, May 21, 2021, at 8:00 AM, the mask restrictions in the State of Delaware are officially lifted. This directive is consistent with the mask lifting mandate released by the CDC.

FSC employees who have been vaccinated are free to go about their daily duties without wearing masks, per Governor Carney’s memo issued Friday, May 14, 2021, and the CDC’s guidance update, released Sunday, May 16, 2021. However, FSC employees who have patient contact, including those responsible for handling patient IDs, payment cards, and currency, will be required to continue wearing gloves.

As stated in the CDC guidelines, it is recommended that patients, caregivers, special guests, and employees who have not been vaccinated continue wearing masks. However, those who have been vaccinated and wish to continue wearing a mask may do so.

Thank you very much for your understanding and resilience during this difficult time — we are all in this together!
